I have loved a lot of despairing people, myself included. Most humans will experience deep sadness at some time in their lives. This poem was inspired by someone who dearly wanted to die, who wished someone would just end their life for them.
Sometimes we need some humor to help us move through difficult times and big emotions. I wrote this poem at a time when I was rather frustrated at this person and needed a way to get it out.
I do not mean to talk about suicidal ideation flippantly. It is very serious. It is very sad. There’s a lot I could say about this. If you are having a hard time, please reach out for support. Connect with friends and family. If you are in crisis, please call the suicide prevention line at 988.
Here it is.
—
I will push you out of the plane
I will tie you to the tracks
I will dangle you above a hundred hungry alligators
I will drop an anvil on your head
I will hit you with a wrecking ball
I will put you through the wood chipper
I will commission catzilla to stomp you like a bug
I will feed you the cute poisonous berries
I will give you Ebola
I will scissor you with scissors
I will suffocate you in puppies

I’d love to hear from you. I want to know what you think. Did you like this poem? Did any part of it resonate with you? Let me know.
This is phenomenally loving and moving.
I totally get it! I think suffocation by puppies should be a choice in right to die states.
