For a little while there in 2020, I would try to take 5-15 minutes every day to just sit with myself and be present to my breath and my body. This poem was written after one of those experiences.
I must have read You Are Here by Thich Nhat Hanh around that time, and I highly recommend it if you want to practice more mindfulness, but struggle with it when you try.

She’s quiet
feet pressed flat
soul on soul
shoulders back
lids low
breath slow
paragliding above
her skin
the atmosphere
of mind eerie
silent
she floats from
scalp
to brow
to ...
the urge to push up glasses
she’s not wearing
come back.
she glides
to ears and
jaw joints tight
see it.
slackening, stretching
following a gust
down high neck
to sore shoulders
back
lonely waist
half-moon wing
catches here
she feels palms
and fingers holding
so
let go.
she slips safe
to hips
opening
in butterfly pose
to knees
and ankles
that crack
pushing together
feet
that have forgotten
to be two
now one
pulsing conduit
of light
