I will tenderly collect ...
This poem was written just after I wrote last week’s poem, and they go together. Please go back to last week’s poem before you read this one. Read last week’s full post, then this poem. Thank you for being here.

fragmented
by Katie Anne Jamieson
for me
Christianity
was a
developmental disability
the range of
acceptability
smaller than
one tiny leg
of one tiny
ant
in the universe
of possibility,
the universe
of myself
that I
now discover
I am an explorer
of my own feelings
that were exiled
for taking up too much space
it is time to make room
for all that
was cramped
and crumpled
and trampled
into fragments
all these pieces of me
I will tenderly collect them
I will bring them together
and see what is beautiful
see myself expand
and glow
reclaim myself fully
warm in the light of
this revolutionary
burgeoning self compassion

I’d love to hear from you. I want to know what you think. Did you like this poem? Did any part of it resonate with you? Let me know.

I love the last stanza and bring oneself tenderly back together.
This is so incredibly beautiful. I absolutely second Angela, the last stanza absolutely lit me up. Finding home in these words, feeling seen and heard. And for all of this, me too. Me too.
