This poem seems pretty darn cheesy when I read it now, but there’s still some goodness in there. And, tbh, I like a little cheesy.

I am baloo
the bear
come sit on my
belly
and I will float you
down the river
I will sing to you
my songs
as we glide
through the flowers
it is beautiful
and necessary
mother nature’s
recipe
our spread-limb
half-immersion
in the currents
we choose
and the ones
we don’t
one foot
in yesterday
one in today
the forward body
dipping into the deepest right now
and my hair rippling
into forever
